Dress according to the seasons

The fashion is a very vague term as it varies from person to person and even varies from perception of one person to another. The fashion changes very quickly and thus varies from one point of time to another. There is nothing constant in the fashion industry. The one look which is very trendy now becomes a fashion disaster if taken up at some other point of time when the look is out of fashion. The seasonal fashion is very common. The seasonal fashion implies changing the look and the fashion according to the seasons. The seasonal fashion is the common look adapted during the summers or the winters or the rainy seasons. The preferred look and the choice of the clothes vary from the comfort in the particular season. The seasonal fashion is the one which is greatly dependent on the comfort according to the climate of the place. Sporting a wrong look in a wrong season can be the worst fashion mistake one can do. The seasonal fashion is the one which is adapted according to the seasons, therefore in the winter season the fashion and the emphasis is more on the winter or the warm clothing, miniskirts and the hot pants cannot be the look of the winters. Similarly the high boots and the plastic slippers are the look for the rainy season. The fashion of one season varies from that of the others even the colours of the choice of clothes also differ from the season to season.

Fashion Emergency: Checkered Flags and Red Flags (Part 3)

As we head down the home stretch, this is a good time to add more daily things you can consider before dressing for work or to go out with friends or a date. There’s a couple of “do’s” here that are good but, at the same time, have to be carefully watched. One would be wearing something that you never wore before. This can be good and uplifting for you. Make sure to try a few things of this nature on and get a few second opinions. Maybe you got a mini-skirt and you’re not too sure of it. There’s the option to get a longer one if you like that style and it covers up what you don’t want to be seen (or the fact some mini-skirts go beyond “short”).

While you look all snazzy and spiffy, a few don’ts to consider are rather simple: If you are dressed to kill with decent to expensive clothing, don’t wear a cheap watch or jacket! Just kills the whole vision of a well-to-do, successful man or woman. Same goes for a man or a woman wearing an elegant or expensive dress or shirt and slacks.  As for the woman, we mentioned this in part one, don’t wear anything ridiculously skin-tight or to the point you look like you’re working the street corner. Also, avoid too much see-through material as yes, I am a guy, guys are sometimes pigs and you may draw too much attention and cause distraction (or one less date for some other guy there on a date gawking at you).

To end this wild race, we have to mention a couple of the greatest classic don’ts of all time. The first would be the clashing of patterns, stripes, dots, circles, shapes, etc.. You either are going to look like a Picasso piece, be introduced to the Smithsonian or look like a human quilt. As we near the checkered flag, the final classic don’t? If you own a jump suit or jogging outfit, use it for that reason and not for a fashion statement!

What’s Hot for 2011

The buzz from the fashion world for 2011 are the colors coral and honeysuckle. Designers over the years, as with many colors, will be using different tones and shades to accent and enhance these predicted hot summer colors this year. Anything from a pinkish-orange to a deeper coral red will be in full swing in many of the outfits and accessories to be used and highlighted this year. Color tones that are warm and cool will more than likely be this year’s them throughout the season. The color that will go well and offset the coral is mentioned to be teal as well as 2010′s color winner, turquoise.

Other colors that will be in demand for the 2011 fashion season will be honeysuckle, peapod, beeswax, silver cloud, lavender, regatta, russet, blue curacao, silver peony and coral rose. Many of these can be alterbnated with one another offering a fresh look while having accents and/or background colors added to the blends.

Some items items you’ll more than likely see will be day dresses and pumps in the honeysuckle or coral color scheme as well as sunglasses and handbags. Some of the dresses and pumps may have a black accent to them to really show off the honeysuckle color. Honeysuckle is one of those colors you can wear day or night and can be useful and stunning in women’s apparel from nightwear to accessories and cosmetics while for men, works with ties, dress shirts and some sportswear. Some women will also be seen using lip gloss and eye blush as well in this color for the 2011 season.

Now, since the color honeysuckle represents the courage and boldness of a positive mood swing for the troubling times we face, I wouldn’t let that dictate what you want to wear as far as any of the other colors or fashions available, but unfortunately, that’s how the fashion industry interprets the colors; following or studying the the mood of people and the industry itself which then reflects the outcome of things that become the norm or setting the trend for the year.

Profession And Fashion

People usually don’t pay much attention to what they wear on a daily basis. When you get into a routine you have the feeling that fashion is not necessary. You may look beautiful and gorgeous in a party, but totally disheveled and unsettled in your office. Of course there are people who are particular about what they wear and how they carry themselves around.
People have a notion that those who are in the high positions or important jobs should look perfect each day while others can afford to be slack in their fashion sense. This is not the case. All professions and jobs are important and each one of you has the responsibility to look immaculate and good when you go for work.
There are some professions which would require a person to be very good looking. For example, take the job of a receptionist. This is a person who deals with people on a daily basis and so it is very important that they look very approachable and stylish. This is not to say that you should look like a celebrity, just you should be very clean and professional in your style.
It is not necessary that you should have naturally good features to look good. It is your clothes and your attitude which makes you attractive and appealing. Most people prefer to go to a person who is stylish and has a comfortable attitude than somebody who looks like they have just climbed out of the dustbin though they may be extremely pretty or good looking.
Your profession is an important factor which governs the way you look and the way you carry yourself around. Always remember to look very professional and cool. It is not a mistake to look fashionable even if your only role in the office is to dust the tables and chairs. Be stylish and look attractive.

Climate And Fashion

One of the things that can influence your fashion is the climatic condition of the place where you are at the time. Sometimes it would quite embarrassing and uncomfortable to be in a place with the clothes which you are wearing. There are also some situations where you would have to grab something to protect you before the weather threatens to harm you.
Look at the summer season. In the hot and sweaty climate, it would be unadvisable to wear black clothes, or something which would hug your body and stick on to it. The summer season calls for clothes of comfortable fabrics like cotton, or synthetic cotton. Wearing satin or crape in a hot climate can turn out to be disastrous especially if you are a person who sweats a lot.
Now consider the winter season. Wearing cotton clothes during winter would give you frostbite. The winter season would a great time to wear sheer black clothes. The cold would make you pale, which is a great combination with black clothes. Remember to wear something heavy like wool or something made from a rough fabric so that you would be protected from the cold.
The spring season is something in which you can wear anything. Be it black or white or any color you want. You can wear any fabric in which you would be comfortable and at ease. The spring is a season in which you can have any sense of fashion or make up and be comfortable without any fear of your make up getting messed up or having a sweaty day.
The climate and fashion are very closely linked. Be sure that the things you wear when you go out is compatible with the climate and that you won’t have to be embarrassed because of the effects the climate would have on your body.

The Ever Changing Fashion

If there is anything that changes much faster than the weather, it is the fashion sense of people you see around you. You find that fashion is something people always look on to and want to change so that they look perfect. There are many types of fashion and a style for each occasion and job that you do. In fact it has become a trend to wear clothes which would define the job you are doing.
Today people are judged by their fashion sense and their sense of style. Fashion is something you can’t define precisely. It can be thought of as something which makes you look more attractive, or prettier, or more appealing. It is not defined in a cut and dry manner or in a manner where you can pinpoint that this is the exact definition of fashion.
Also, fashion is something which is influenced by each and everything that you come across. A dry and dead bark of tree can influence a designer to design clothes which can later on become some of the greatest hits of the century. There are also styles which can have the lifespan of a raindrop, which can be unique for a few seconds and becomes a part of something which is not exactly what you call different.
Also, fashion can be different for different people. Something which makes a person very attractive would be a disaster for you when you wear it. This would mean that each person has a level of comfort and appeal which is quite different from others. If you follow a part of fashion which everybody has, it would become just another style, not something unique.
With a good fashion sense you can look attractive and irresistible. The only thing is you have to find your forte and stick to it.

Women’s Shoe Trends for Spring/Summer 2011

Casual shoes are in for a lot of straps in the spring and summer of 2011. Expect to see all different types of materials used for straps. Ribbons, skinny scarfs and cord were prevalent on the runways, providing a closure on a variety of shoe styles. Christian Dior accentuates a high heel pump with a platform and grosgrain ribbon, reaching above the ankle for high chic. Moschino uses a ribbon striped in burgundy, gold, and navy on a stacked leather heel. The effect is highly reminiscent of the 70′s. For those who have strappy shoes from a previous season, rejoice in the fact that they are still in style. No having to spend money to stay fashionable.

Shoe designs for the office are as varied as ever. Platform heel sandals are more toned down than their fashionable counterparts, but still offer plenty of excitement when worn. And for those who are not comfortable wearing a heel, but would like to have some height, there are plenty of wedge styles to select. A wedge provides support for the entire foot as well as being more shock absorbent. They look every bit as sexy as a high heel, meaning nothing is lost by wearing a more sensible shoe.

And for those days when wearing a heel is not practical, flats are showing a fun selection of shapes and styles. Oxford style shoes take a cue from menswear, becoming slimmer and feminine. Brogues become light and airy by paring down the coverage, retaining the toe and kiltie that defines the shoe. Add some color or pattern in to brighten it up.

Last, but not least, thin strapped sandals with plenty of decoration complete the season. Select a sandal with conservative decoration for the office, or outright pizazz for a night on the town.

The Fascinator Hat Returns to the Fashion Scene

The fascinator hat has seen quite the resurgence in popularity. Its origins date back to the 1930′s and has always been around in some form or another. Standard designs revolve around a shaped base that is crammed with all kinds of ornamentation on top. Pheasant tails, cabbage roses, large bows, all can be found on a fascinator. They are wonderful to wear at a cocktail party where they draw all kinds of attention to the wearer. Many a conversation gets started by the lady with the derring-do to wear one.

The Kentucky Derby is by far the most popular place to see these hats being worn, but don’t let that be the only place. Anywhere that a cocktail dress can go, so can the fascinator. Other places to wear them are parties, informal dinners, anywhere where a slightly formal dress code is required. Show a little individuality and arrive wearing a unique creation. It is fun to be able to do something different every once in a while, so why not wear a little hat?

Finding a hat doesn’t have to take a lot of footwork. Plenty of hat makers have websites, and there may even be a boutique in a nearby town. The best part about a fascinator is that they do not have to have a specific fit. This little fact makes it easier to purchase one online since there’s only looking good to be concerned with.

Don’t settle for the first hat that is found. There are so many to choose from that the wearer can easily be picky. Find one that complements personality, a special outfit, or has colors that appeal. A hat is a highly individual accessory, expressing in color and texture a hidden side of the wearer. Never be afraid to be a little bold.

White after Labor Day?

One of the many seasonal fashion “don’ts” is to NOT wear white after Labor Day. Where did this originate from? Well, after some extensive searching, I came across a few ideas. The idea seems to have originated in the south. In the mid 1900′s there were more people entering into the middle classes then ever. Most of these new middle class citizens were unaware of the “standards” of high society and were given rules to follow in order to fit in. The rule seems to have started with white shoes, but then later moved to the rest of the wardrobe. White shoes, and later clothes, were not to be worn before Easter or after Labor Day. This was most likely to keep summer fashions in the summer and winter fashions in the winter. Of course, who would wear a scarf in the summer?

Some say that this seasonal fashion don’t is attributed to the fact that women covered up more in the early 20th century. Wearing white in the summer allowed them to stay cooler due to the colors reflective qualities. With the current lack of clothing that women wear in this day in age, they tend to wear darker colors during the summer.

During the winter months, try wearing a white coat, sweater, or even a white pair of jeans match perfectly in a sea of black. Make sure to put away those paper thin summer tops and instead reach for a heavier material. And try to stay away from the white shoes at any time, unless you want to look like a nerd. So, for now, you can count this out as a genuine fashion don’t. Most fashion experts are now saying that this is no longer a rule. Feel free to wear whatever color your heart desires during any season of the year.
