What’s Hot for 2011

The buzz from the fashion world for 2011 are the colors coral and honeysuckle. Designers over the years, as with many colors, will be using different tones and shades to accent and enhance these predicted hot summer colors this year. Anything from a pinkish-orange to a deeper coral red will be in full swing in many of the outfits and accessories to be used and highlighted this year. Color tones that are warm and cool will more than likely be this year’s them throughout the season. The color that will go well and offset the coral is mentioned to be teal as well as 2010′s color winner, turquoise.

Other colors that will be in demand for the 2011 fashion season will be honeysuckle, peapod, beeswax, silver cloud, lavender, regatta, russet, blue curacao, silver peony and coral rose. Many of these can be alterbnated with one another offering a fresh look while having accents and/or background colors added to the blends.

Some items items you’ll more than likely see will be day dresses and pumps in the honeysuckle or coral color scheme as well as sunglasses and handbags. Some of the dresses and pumps may have a black accent to them to really show off the honeysuckle color. Honeysuckle is one of those colors you can wear day or night and can be useful and stunning in women’s apparel from nightwear to accessories and cosmetics while for men, works with ties, dress shirts and some sportswear. Some women will also be seen using lip gloss and eye blush as well in this color for the 2011 season.

Now, since the color honeysuckle represents the courage and boldness of a positive mood swing for the troubling times we face, I wouldn’t let that dictate what you want to wear as far as any of the other colors or fashions available, but unfortunately, that’s how the fashion industry interprets the colors; following or studying the the mood of people and the industry itself which then reflects the outcome of things that become the norm or setting the trend for the year.

Profession And Fashion

People usually don’t pay much attention to what they wear on a daily basis. When you get into a routine you have the feeling that fashion is not necessary. You may look beautiful and gorgeous in a party, but totally disheveled and unsettled in your office. Of course there are people who are particular about what they wear and how they carry themselves around.
People have a notion that those who are in the high positions or important jobs should look perfect each day while others can afford to be slack in their fashion sense. This is not the case. All professions and jobs are important and each one of you has the responsibility to look immaculate and good when you go for work.
There are some professions which would require a person to be very good looking. For example, take the job of a receptionist. This is a person who deals with people on a daily basis and so it is very important that they look very approachable and stylish. This is not to say that you should look like a celebrity, just you should be very clean and professional in your style.
It is not necessary that you should have naturally good features to look good. It is your clothes and your attitude which makes you attractive and appealing. Most people prefer to go to a person who is stylish and has a comfortable attitude than somebody who looks like they have just climbed out of the dustbin though they may be extremely pretty or good looking.
Your profession is an important factor which governs the way you look and the way you carry yourself around. Always remember to look very professional and cool. It is not a mistake to look fashionable even if your only role in the office is to dust the tables and chairs. Be stylish and look attractive.

Spring 2011 is Fast Approaching: Are you Ready?

In a few short weeks spring will arrive, and that means a shedding of winter clothes for all but those in the most southernmost climes. Being prepared for the lighter clothes seasons gives a jump up for fashionistas who are waiting to show off their latest looks.

The 70′s are back in a major way, replete with modern influences. Plan on a redux of Annie Hall’s style in the closet. Wide-legged and high-wasted pants, an oxford shirt, a man’s vest and maybe a tie to complete the look. Jewelry leans towards gold with few rhinestones and plenty of chains. Jeans are showing up with high waists and flared legs, right out of a hippie’s wardrobe. Pass on the floral prints and headbands to keep the look modern. However, don’t skip out on the platform shoes!

Outwear is still an important item for the springtime. As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.” Get caught out in a downpour while wearing a bright 60′s inspired a-line jacket from Michael Kors. Just because the day is dreary does not mean that the wearer has to be.

Preppy styles are in the bag again. Boating shoes and big nautical inspired totes showed up on the runways. Go ahead and pull the Izods out of retirement and pop those collars. Don’t worry, it is what is in for the springtime.

Last, but certainly not least, chiffon and gauzy materials were spotted on many runways. Resist the urge to wear a transparent shirt with little underneath it. Instead, layer with solid garments over it. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to show off a wee bit, temper it with some conservatism.

There is truly no wrong turn to take with the Spring 2011 fashions. Having a mish-mosh of all of the current deisigns is appropriate and acceptable.

The Fascinator Hat Returns to the Fashion Scene

The fascinator hat has seen quite the resurgence in popularity. Its origins date back to the 1930′s and has always been around in some form or another. Standard designs revolve around a shaped base that is crammed with all kinds of ornamentation on top. Pheasant tails, cabbage roses, large bows, all can be found on a fascinator. They are wonderful to wear at a cocktail party where they draw all kinds of attention to the wearer. Many a conversation gets started by the lady with the derring-do to wear one.

The Kentucky Derby is by far the most popular place to see these hats being worn, but don’t let that be the only place. Anywhere that a cocktail dress can go, so can the fascinator. Other places to wear them are parties, informal dinners, anywhere where a slightly formal dress code is required. Show a little individuality and arrive wearing a unique creation. It is fun to be able to do something different every once in a while, so why not wear a little hat?

Finding a hat doesn’t have to take a lot of footwork. Plenty of hat makers have websites, and there may even be a boutique in a nearby town. The best part about a fascinator is that they do not have to have a specific fit. This little fact makes it easier to purchase one online since there’s only looking good to be concerned with.

Don’t settle for the first hat that is found. There are so many to choose from that the wearer can easily be picky. Find one that complements personality, a special outfit, or has colors that appeal. A hat is a highly individual accessory, expressing in color and texture a hidden side of the wearer. Never be afraid to be a little bold.

Even though Fall 2010 might almost  be over it never hurts to take a look back at some of the fashionable trends that were made popular during that fashion period. The Fall 2010 fashion trends saw a number of changes and unique looks that shocked some people and left others scrambling to pull out some of the retro looks they had in their closets.

Here is a look back at some of the popular fashion trends that fashion followers saw during the Fall 2010 season.

Military Fashion. Military fashion trends were really popular in the Fall 2010 collection. Everything from military jackets, suits, dresses and other styles came on the scene during the Fall 2010 collection.

Leather Clothing. It used to be that leather was only worn for gloves or jackets but the Fall 2010 fashion trend saw it used for clothing too. Leather clothing became popular fashion trends during the season. There were leather shirts and pants in a wide array of colors.

Lingerie as Clothing. One of the unique trends of the Fall 2010 was the ability for people to wear their underwear as outerwear. Lingerie like clothing made its way onto the scene and was probably the most talked about fashion trend for 2010.

Knee High Socks. Knee high socks were also a popular fashion trend for Fall 2010. These socks were usually worn with short mini-skirts or shorts but they really made an impact.

White Tights. Every girl has probably worn white tights when they were younger but the Fall 2010 collection saw white tights as some of the fashionable trends for the year. These white tights give off a trimmer, fit leg look which every woman wishes to achieve.

Buttoned Up Tops. It is hard to believe with lingerie as outwear that the buttoned up top would make it into the collection but it did. Tops were buttoned to just below the chin for a modest, professional look in 2010.

Be Daring in Dereon

Dereon has a unique, fashionable twist. The jeans have distinctive embroidered pockets designed to flatter your backside. The dresses are shaped to complement a woman’s curves. Most of them are sleek and formfitting, but some are designed with features to detract from figure flaws, so there’s a Dereon Dress for anyone. Many are minis, but again, some are designed just above the knee. The tops are mainly t-shirts with fancy designs, but they have distinctive necklines or sleeves, giving you a sense of being fashionable and a little extraordinary. The line also includes button-down or pull-over shirts with beautiful lines and trim. These are sexy shirts without revealing all your secrets. Dereon has a new take on denim jumpsuits, with tight, formfitting curves and styles. These are not your Daddy’s overalls.

Top it all off with original Dereon jewelry and you have a killer outfit. Dereon jewelry actually goes with the clothes, and it is very modern and stylish. The shoes are a full-range, from sandals to thigh-high boots, sneakers to high high heels. This is not a limited line. There is a wide variety of beautiful shoes, adorned with studs, embroidery, ribbons and chains. The sneakers would look good on any schoolgirl’s feet, and stupendous on the basketball court.

The snow boots are jazzed up with several rows of studs, raising them beyond the ordinary winter foot-warmers. The dressy shoes are sexy and original, even the boots. It’s hard to dress up a hoodie, and most of the Dereon hoodies are casual, but with a unique cut or trim. A couple of them are especially pretty, and who says warmth has to be ugly? Dereon jackets are made in a wide variety of colors, styles, and fit. From warm parkas to close-fitting vests, you can face the winter in a Dereon jacket.
