If you are a skinny girl, which often means you have a smaller frame and waist, you may find that clothing options range widely. Going into any fashion store, though, does not mean you will find clothing that fits your body properly. This is especially true for women who are tall and thin, or those who are petite.
Making the Right Decisions
Skinny girls have the same problems as others. Finding well-fitting clothing can be a struggle. You do not want to look like you are wearing baby costumes; save those for the cute toddlers and infants in your life. Instead, consider these do’s and don’ts for fashion success.
- Don’t wear clothing that is too baggy. Wearing baggy clothing is often a fashion no-no no matter what size you are. It makes you look larger and is not flattering.
- Do consider clothing designed for your frame. You may want to consider professional tailoring services, too. Having clothing trimmed, lengthened or even tucked in the right place can make a big difference in the way you look.
- Do show off your curves. Some skinny girls may have a more boxed shape. That stems from wearing ill-fitting clothing. Wear a belt around your waist to create more of a curve there. Choose clothing that is more form-fitting.
Perhaps the most important thing to do is to shop for clothing you love wearing. The more enjoyable the clothing is to you, the more likely you are to look good in it. Try many styles and fun patterns that you do not already own.
