Shoes are a part of fashion. It can change the entire way you look and in most cases the way you carry yourself around. There are people who pay close attention to their clothes and accessories but wear rags for shoes and go to a party. They feel that nobody would notice the shoes and so it doesn’t require much importance.
The fact is most people notice what you are wearing. In fact you may be one of the people who notice what other people are wearing. It is quite common to check what others are wearing; first you notice the clothes, then the accessories and finally the shoes. There are people who start with the shoes; in that case if you wear something bad the first impression would be lost.
This also implies the fact that you should take care of your feet and hands. They should be immaculate and clean because people notice such stuff. If your nails are not clean and have dark dirt in between, people would find it very disgusting. Get a pedicure whenever possible so that your nails and feet are always clean and healthy.
Coming back to the shoes, it should be selected carefully. A comfortable shoe would make it difficult for you to walk properly. An irregular and uncomfortable stride would affect your whole style and make you look very unstylish. So choose something in which you would be very comfortable and can walk properly so that you look confident and cool.

Colors And The Weather

Imagine this awkward situation; one day you wake early in the morning, the weather is very hot and sweaty. You had already decided on a black dress for the day and you decide to go along with it. The odds are that when you reach your office you would be swimming in your own sweat which can disgust you as well as others.
The color and the weather are very closely related, almost interlinked with each other. The weather can affect your body in a good or a bad way depending on the color of your clothes. The above mentioned example is a perfect one which can tell you a lot about the choice of colors you must choose when going to the office.
Of course, if are out on a party you can have any dress you want because there would most likely be temperature regulation in the room. This would mean that you can be comfortable in it and not look like something which just popped out of the garbage can. Analyze the situations in which you would be entering and then decide on what to wear.
Light colors would be a perfect choice for a hot day. White is the perfect choice if you are out on a hot day for shopping or to office. Also, when you work out white would be a perfect choice so that less heat is attracted to your body. Dark colors can be used for days when the weather is cold. Black for a cold day is perfect, because the color would absorb all the heat to your body making you comfortable.
Be careful and aware of the effects of the colors you are wearing when you go out. Especially in situations in which you have to do something formal like meeting up with clients. It would be good to look nice and presentable.

Using Colors and Patterns in an Everyday Wardrobe

Color is a universally appreciated thing, as well as patterns. The eye delights in seeing something different, something bright, and anything that sparks in general. The added bonus is when a pleasing color or pattern is worn, it moves with the wearer, bringing them attention. And this is where many go wrong with their choices.

Wearing something bright or loud needs to be in harmony with the wearer. Someone who is short and heavy set will not benefit from wearing an overall pattern. Overall means a dress with a large print, or matching shirt and skirt/pants. All it does is draw the eye to look completely at the body. For someone who wants to look professional or well put together, clothing with a busy print should not be worn. It is much better to break up the print with a solid color. Where the print and the solid are on the body is up to the wearer. Someone who is heavier on top than bottom can wear prints on the bottom and a solid colored top, drawing the eye downwards. Prints are fun and should be a part of a wardrobe. Be circumspect when picking the garment so it doesn’t overpower the wearer.

Solid colors are as basic as it gets, but they can be worn with much effect. The little black dress is always solid black, but it provides much in the way of versatility. A print can be thrown on top to relieve the black, or it can be worn with jewelry that suits the taste of the wearer. It is impossible to go wrong with wearing solid black. As for the rest of the rainbow, consider the character of Joan Holloway in Mad Men. The fashion designers use solid colors to killer effect for the character. Take a page from their book on how to use color as a statement.

The Ever Changing Fashion

If there is anything that changes much faster than the weather, it is the fashion sense of people you see around you. You find that fashion is something people always look on to and want to change so that they look perfect. There are many types of fashion and a style for each occasion and job that you do. In fact it has become a trend to wear clothes which would define the job you are doing.
Today people are judged by their fashion sense and their sense of style. Fashion is something you can’t define precisely. It can be thought of as something which makes you look more attractive, or prettier, or more appealing. It is not defined in a cut and dry manner or in a manner where you can pinpoint that this is the exact definition of fashion.
Also, fashion is something which is influenced by each and everything that you come across. A dry and dead bark of tree can influence a designer to design clothes which can later on become some of the greatest hits of the century. There are also styles which can have the lifespan of a raindrop, which can be unique for a few seconds and becomes a part of something which is not exactly what you call different.
Also, fashion can be different for different people. Something which makes a person very attractive would be a disaster for you when you wear it. This would mean that each person has a level of comfort and appeal which is quite different from others. If you follow a part of fashion which everybody has, it would become just another style, not something unique.
With a good fashion sense you can look attractive and irresistible. The only thing is you have to find your forte and stick to it.

Women’s Shoe Trends for Spring/Summer 2011

Casual shoes are in for a lot of straps in the spring and summer of 2011. Expect to see all different types of materials used for straps. Ribbons, skinny scarfs and cord were prevalent on the runways, providing a closure on a variety of shoe styles. Christian Dior accentuates a high heel pump with a platform and grosgrain ribbon, reaching above the ankle for high chic. Moschino uses a ribbon striped in burgundy, gold, and navy on a stacked leather heel. The effect is highly reminiscent of the 70′s. For those who have strappy shoes from a previous season, rejoice in the fact that they are still in style. No having to spend money to stay fashionable.

Shoe designs for the office are as varied as ever. Platform heel sandals are more toned down than their fashionable counterparts, but still offer plenty of excitement when worn. And for those who are not comfortable wearing a heel, but would like to have some height, there are plenty of wedge styles to select. A wedge provides support for the entire foot as well as being more shock absorbent. They look every bit as sexy as a high heel, meaning nothing is lost by wearing a more sensible shoe.

And for those days when wearing a heel is not practical, flats are showing a fun selection of shapes and styles. Oxford style shoes take a cue from menswear, becoming slimmer and feminine. Brogues become light and airy by paring down the coverage, retaining the toe and kiltie that defines the shoe. Add some color or pattern in to brighten it up.

Last, but not least, thin strapped sandals with plenty of decoration complete the season. Select a sandal with conservative decoration for the office, or outright pizazz for a night on the town.

Spring 2011 is Fast Approaching: Are you Ready?

In a few short weeks spring will arrive, and that means a shedding of winter clothes for all but those in the most southernmost climes. Being prepared for the lighter clothes seasons gives a jump up for fashionistas who are waiting to show off their latest looks.

The 70′s are back in a major way, replete with modern influences. Plan on a redux of Annie Hall’s style in the closet. Wide-legged and high-wasted pants, an oxford shirt, a man’s vest and maybe a tie to complete the look. Jewelry leans towards gold with few rhinestones and plenty of chains. Jeans are showing up with high waists and flared legs, right out of a hippie’s wardrobe. Pass on the floral prints and headbands to keep the look modern. However, don’t skip out on the platform shoes!

Outwear is still an important item for the springtime. As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.” Get caught out in a downpour while wearing a bright 60′s inspired a-line jacket from Michael Kors. Just because the day is dreary does not mean that the wearer has to be.

Preppy styles are in the bag again. Boating shoes and big nautical inspired totes showed up on the runways. Go ahead and pull the Izods out of retirement and pop those collars. Don’t worry, it is what is in for the springtime.

Last, but certainly not least, chiffon and gauzy materials were spotted on many runways. Resist the urge to wear a transparent shirt with little underneath it. Instead, layer with solid garments over it. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to show off a wee bit, temper it with some conservatism.

There is truly no wrong turn to take with the Spring 2011 fashions. Having a mish-mosh of all of the current deisigns is appropriate and acceptable.

Picking the Right Handbag for The Job

Some will say yes, some will say no, proving that there is no one answer to the question. Some women love having one bag that goes everywhere, others want a variety of purses and clutches for different occasions. And true, there is nothing quite like wearing that snazzy purse to dress up an otherwise plain outfit. So what should women be looking for when choosing a handbag?

Picking a handbag is a highly individual process. What works for one may not work for another. But never hesitate to seek out a second opinion. Breaking out of the mold a little bit never hurts. Hold in mind the reason for buying a new purse. If it is for day to day, pick something that will take casual abuse and not fall apart. There is nothing worse than putting down a large amount of money on an item, only to have it fall apart a few weeks later. Some purses are made for the occasional night out on the town or special occasion, meaning they are not very sturdily built. Chose a bag that is made out of material with staying power, such as leather.

Something that has gotten lost with the advent of the bling bags is taste. The glitzy and overdone purses that populate the shelves are all fine and dandy for some fun. But when wearing them with equally glitzy and overdone clothes, the whole feeling gets lost. An outfit becomes trashy instead of tasteful. Do not fall for the “flashier the better” theme. Pull back a little bit and use the glam purse as an accent to an understated outfit. Let the purse bring the outfit together instead of shattering it. There will be many more compliments coming the wearer’s way for showing a flair instead of a flop.
